December Pensioner/Family Bonus

As a part of the Economic Security Strategy released by the Australian Government, pensioners, seniors, people with disability, carers and veterans may be eligible for a lump sum payment of $1,400 for singles and $1,050 for each eligible member of a couple.
 
Families with a dependent child/children enabling them to receive Youth Allowance or ABSTUDY Living Allowance or were entitled to Family Tax Benefit Part A are may be eligible for a lump sum payment of $1,000 for each eligible child in their care.
 

Drought Assistance Extension

32 of the 36, drought-declared areas in NSW, Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia will have financial assistance extended until 31st March 2009. The Rudd Government has accepted advice from the National Rural Advisory Council to extend assistance which was due to expire on 30th September 2008.
 

Net Medical Expenses Tax Offset

Net medical expenses are the medical expenses you have paid less any refunds you got, or could get, from Medicare or your private health fund.
